Bee & Wasp Removal: Local Company or Lead-Gen Site?

Search for wasp or bee removal around Harrisburg and some of the results near the top aren't pest control companies at all. They're websites that sell your phone call to whoever is paying that week. Here's how to tell the difference before you dial.

What a Lead-Gen Site Actually Is

A lead-generation site looks like a local company. It has a town name in the title, pictures of wasp nests, and a big "call now" button. But nobody behind it removes anything. When you call, the call gets routed to a network of contractors, and the site gets paid a fee for sending it.

That doesn't automatically mean you'll get a bad job. It means you don't know who's coming, whether they're licensed, or what they'll charge until someone is already in your driveway.

The Fine Print Usually Gives It Away

Scroll to the very bottom of the page. Lead-gen sites almost always carry a disclaimer, and the wording is pretty consistent. Watch for lines saying:

If you see that, you're not looking at a pest control company. You're looking at an ad.

Six Quick Checks Before You Call

Honey bees are a different check. Live honey bee removal is beekeeping work. No pesticide is involved, so a pesticide license isn't the right question. Ask whether they remove the colony alive, and where the bees go afterward. A colony that gets sprayed inside a wall dies there, and the leftover comb and honey can leak and attract other pests. More on that on our honey bee removal page.

Why This Matters Most With Stinging Insects

Nobody shops around for a yellow jacket nest next to the back door. You call the first number you find. That's exactly the kind of call lead-gen sites are built for. It's also when people end up with someone who isn't licensed, or who turns a one-time nest into a yearly contract pitch.

Taking two minutes to check the fine print and ask for a license number is worth it, even in a hurry.

Who You're Calling Here

Lawns Plants & Pests is owner-operated out of 3506 High St. in Harrisburg. When you call 717-379-3248, you reach the same person who comes out and does the work.
