Mosquito & Tick Control in Harrisburg, PA

You paid for the yard. Right now you can't sit in it past six o'clock, and you're pulling ticks off the dog — or off the kids, which is the one that actually keeps parents up. We knock the population down where it breeds instead of just fogging the air. And because we keep our own bees, we do it without wiping out the pollinators working your garden.

Why Mosquito & Tick Control Matters in Central PA

Central Pennsylvania has the perfect conditions for both mosquitoes and ticks — humid summers, plenty of standing water, and large deer populations carrying ticks into yards. The PA Department of Health reports Lyme disease cases in Dauphin, Cumberland, and Lebanon Counties every year, and West Nile virus shows up in local mosquito samples each summer. A single yard treatment knocks down adult populations. A monthly program keeps them down through the season — and the season is longer than people expect. October is consistently one of our busier mosquito months. Mosquitoes stay active until nights are reliably cold, which in Central PA is usually late October, so the people who cancel after Labor Day tend to be the ones calling back three weeks later.

Yard Barrier Treatments

We treat the resting areas where mosquitoes hide — undersides of leaves, dense shrubs, ornamental beds, shaded areas. Barrier treatments are done monthly through the season — that is the interval the residual actually holds for.

In2Care Mosquito Stations

Targeted bait stations that kill mosquito larvae at every life stage, serviced every 6 weeks through the season. Uses the mosquitoes themselves to spread larvicide to nearby breeding sites. Far gentler on bees and pollinators than broad-spectrum spraying. We're trained In2Care applicators.

EcoGuard Plus Organic Applications

Fully organic, EPA-exempt essential oil barrier treatment with 30-day residual repellency. Zero synthetic insecticides. Safe for pollinators when applied as directed. As a working beekeeper, we wouldn't apply something that kills our own bees.

Tick Control

Targeted treatments for lawn edges, leaf litter, woodlines, and perimeter zones where ticks "quest." For properties bordering woods or fields, we add perimeter treatments where deer and rodents enter the yard.

Beneficial Nematodes for Ticks & Fleas

Live predatory nematodes applied to leaf litter, woodline edges, and shaded ground where ticks and fleas hide — they parasitize the larval and nymph stages directly in the soil. Zero synthetic insecticide. Pollinator-safe, pet-safe, kid-safe. Works as a layered addition to barrier treatments for homeowners who want to reduce reliance on adult-tick sprays, or as the tick component of a fully organic yard program. Breeding Site Reduction

We walk your property for standing water at ground level — tarps, kiddie pools, bird baths, plant saucers, buckets, old tires, low spots — and treat or recommend changes for each one. We don't get up on the roof or inspect gutters; if we think gutters are the source, we'll tell you so you can have them cleared.

Special Event Treatments

Outdoor wedding, graduation, family reunion? We do single-application treatments timed 24–48 hours before your event for maximum effect. Call early — weekend slots fill up fast in summer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does mosquito and tick control cost?
Pricing depends on yard size, vegetation needing treatment, and whether you choose a single treatment or seasonal program. We give free estimates over the phone or on-site.
How often are treatments needed?
Monthly through mosquito season is the standard for full season-long control, and that is how most customers are set up. In2Care stations run on their own schedule and are serviced every 6 weeks. After heavy rain you may notice a brief uptick in activity — the next scheduled treatment will catch up.
Are treatments safe for kids, pets, and bees?
Yes, when applied correctly. Nothing in flower gets sprayed — not the ornamentals, not the flowering weeds in the lawn. That does mean some areas get skipped, and we would rather tell you that up front than quietly spray them anyway. In2Care stations and EcoGuard Plus let us cover a lot of what would otherwise be left out. If you keep your own bees, tell us — we'll work around your hive locations.
What is In2Care and how does it differ from traditional spraying?
In2Care uses small stations placed around your property. Female mosquitoes contact a slow-acting larvicide and carry it to actual breeding sites — passively treating standing water you might not even know about. Far less product, targets mosquitoes specifically, works on hidden breeding sites.
Do you offer organic mosquito control?
Yes — and ours actually works. EcoGuard Plus is a fully organic essential-oil barrier treatment with 30-day residual repellency. It's EPA-exempt under FIFRA Section 25(b), made from plant-derived ingredients only.
